Fungia coral, also known as plate coral, is a type of stony coral that belongs to the family Fungiidae. It is a solitary coral, meaning that it does not form colonies like some other coral species. Instead, each individual fungia coral forms a single, flat disc-shaped polyp that can grow up to several inches in diameter.

Fungia coral is commonly found in shallow waters throughout the Indo-Pacific region, from the Red Sea to the central Pacific. They are often found in sandy or rocky areas and can be brightly coloured, ranging from shades of brown and green to orange, pink, and purple.
